{"id":1735,"date":"2010-10-27T17:04:38","date_gmt":"2010-10-27T16:04:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sixthform.info\/lawblog\/?p=1735"},"modified":"2010-10-27T17:09:00","modified_gmt":"2010-10-27T16:09:00","slug":"legal-services-commission-will-not-appeal-law-society-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sixthform.info\/lawblog\/?p=1735","title":{"rendered":"Legal Services Commission will not appeal Law Society case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LSC Press release issued today:<\/p>\n<p>27 October 2010<\/p>\n<p>After careful consideration, the Legal Services Commission has decided not to appeal against the judgment made on the Law Society\u2019s judicial review of our tender process.<\/p>\n<p>The priority is to focus on the delivery of future public services; any appeal would only prolong the uncertainty over the future of family legal aid contracts, causing difficulties for clients and providers alike.<\/p>\n<p>[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>LSC Chair Sir Bill Callaghan said,<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOur priority must always be to ensure family legal aid clients get the help and legal advice they need.
