The coming into force on 31 December 2008 of the Cat and Dog Fur (Control of Import, Export and Placing on the Market) Regulations 2008, makes the import of cat or dog fur illegal in the UK.

This has been a long, hard, determined battle since the Humane Society International (HSI) uncovered this horrific trade back in 1998. The USA and Australia already had a ban in place so with heartfelt hope and gratitude that common decency prevailed this time we pray that the EU’s landmark decision will signify an end to this vile trade for good.
